It's the NBA Playoffs Conference Finals! I'll note a few things:

• The league MVP is not in it.

• 3 of Nike's Big time shoe sellers are not in it. Initials (LBJ, RW (Jordan), KI)

• A team lacking a superstar is not in it.

Catching up on the results and watching some of the analysis made by TV analyst, brought up an aspect that can be very key. Chemistry.

Best example:

• Boston Celtics who made the EC finals last year were well beaten by the Bucks. Boston had no major injuries and at pretty much full strength.

• Warriors made the WC finals without Easy Money Sniper. Splash Brothers was flowing! (If you ball, you'll know who i'm referencing without googling)

Brings me back to Statsports League Season 1. Written 2016

Good on paper but bad on the court. If there’s no chemistry, your season is going to be a long one. Last Season, the Flames were a Dark-horse potential. Though lacking a true Big Man, they still had all the requirements of a good team i.e. Size, Speed, Fitness, Skill, Talent, Age etc.

Sadly, it didn’t turn out that way by recording only 2 wins which were against the 2 teams that did even worse. You could try and justify but then on the flipside, you need to recognize the Rainmen. They were a collection of Free Agents (i.e. they never really knew each other), got their act together, came to the court ready and gave themselves no excuses. The KL Rhinos know this better as they had to work hard to get that Semi-Final win.

Even with a Superstar on your team, it doesn’t guarantee success. The Cleveland Cavaliers are going through that pain right now. Hopefully it can turn out like the Miami Heat had the same issues initially but then went on to win 2 NBA championships. The San Antonio Spurs is the best example of getting it right year in, year out. (especially in a stacked Western Conference).
